Post Office Foreign Currency
Voted best foreign exchange provider by
the British Travel Awards 2009
The British Travel Awards voted the Post Office the best provider of foreign exchange in 2009, and, with its highly competitive rates on more than 70 overseas currencies at 0% commission, the Post Office offers the best deals around. You can order travellers’ cheques or foreign currency online, and have it delivered to your home, or collect it from one of the 12,000 Post Office branches countrywide.
For extra convenience, the Post Office offers a new assured Saturday delivery, plus free branch collection delivery and weekday home delivery of orders in excess of £500. A photo-id driver’s licence or valid passport is required for branch collection. Take advantage of easy, convenient online ordering, and order as much as £2,500 worth of American Express travellers’ cheques or foreign currency online, up to 5 weekdays in advance.
Most currencies are commission-free, except if you purchase American Express travellers’ cheques in pounds sterling, then a commission of 1.5% applies, for a minimum of £3 and a maximum of £50, or if you sell back travellers’ cheques in pounds sterling without a Post Office receipt. If you have a receipt, the Post Office will buy unused travellers’ cheques and foreign currency, with no commission.
*Except UK Pounds Sterling Travellers Cheques
**Saturday delivery orders will incur a £1.50 fee
